4 DAYS/3 NIGHTS
Featuring: visit of Turin – Italian Royalty and Egyptian Pharaohs
June 4th, 2016 sailing on the Costa Diadema from Savona
DAY 1 I MILAN AIRPORT I BRA HOTEL
Upon your arrival you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel in the region of Piemonte. The balance of the day is at leisure for you to get acquainted with the area. Loosely translated, Piemonte means "at the foot of the mountains". Those mountains, the Alps, define the region and are visible in much of the region, most of which rises and rolls over fertile foothills that produce a bounty that is as rich as the region is green. Piemonte is a land of cheeses, truffles, plump fruit, and, of course, wine -- among which are some of Italy's most powerful, complex, and delicious reds, including Barolo and Barbaresco, lighter reds Barbera and Dolcetto, and Italy's top sparkling white, Asti Spumanti.

DAY 2 I BRA I LANGHE HILLS I BRA
Today we venture into the Langhe Hills. Halfway between the Alps and the Mediterranean, the Langhe hills are a unique and magical display, animated by an extraordinarily fertile nature and by food and wine traditions, which are renowned throughout the world. Here visitors discover valuable foods, ranging from the sought–after white truffle, to the numerous D.O.P. (Protected Designation of Origin) cheeses and wines like the Barolo, and the ‘Round Gentle’ hazelnuts, which form the basis for Gianduja chocolate. After lunch at a local restaurant enjoy a wine tasting session at a local winery. (B, L)

DAY 3 I BRA I TURIN I BRA
Today we spend the day in Turin, Italy's first capital. Founded by the Romans in 26 B.C. as Augusta Taurinorum - meaning "bull" - Torino is a major Baroque city still retaining the standard Roman grid layout with streets as straight as a "grissino", the typical breadstick that was invented here. Back in the days, European royal families used to show off their power and prestige and compete with each other by building sumptuous residences and castles at the outskirt of town. The Savoy Kings of Piedmont made no exception, in fact, over the centuries they built a system of castles and hunting places called “crown of delights”, of which the Reggia di Venaria Reale is the gem. After visiting this magnificent residence and its gardens, you will be taken downtown. Here you will visit the Egyptian Museum, which is known worldwide for housing the finest collection of Egyptian artifacts outside of Cairo. (B)
